A worm moon meditation script and vinyasa yoga

Light a red candle to represent the moon. Set a bowl of water next to the candle to represent the tides, a branch of an evergreen (or a pinecone) to represent everlasting health of our planet, and a feather to represent the connection from earth to the Universe.
While lunar eclipses can happen under all the full moons, for todays practice, we sit under the worm moon of March. The worm moon is so named for the thawing world of the Northern Hemisphere. The emerging life, as shown by the worms' casts upon the fruitful soils as we transition from winter to spring.
Gather together in a seated pose. Feel the tranquility of our presences.
The great Incan empire honored Mama Quilla, the moon goddess. She was married to the sun god Inti. She was considered the protector of women and facilitator of the menstral cycle. It is believed she cries silver tears when a mother loses a child from her womb. On the nights of a blood moon, the time of a total lunar eclispe, Earth, Pacha Mama, travels between Inti and Mama Quilla. This separatation caused the jaguars, the fiercest of all creatures and hunters of the night, to become confused, unable to see to hunt, and hungry. The big cat would attack Mama Quilla and she would bleed.
Out of concern for Mama Quilla, the anciant Incans would scare away the jaguar by exciting thier dogs and shooting arrows into the sky, and by making as much noise as possible in an always successful attempt to scare away the fatale feline.

Lie in a cofortable position. Let your knees roll out, your shoulders gently shift underneath you, and soften the tension through your cheekbones. Allow your tongue to fall away from the roof of your mouth.
Bring your thoughts to this moment.
Allow the presence of others in this room, in this place, in the Universe.
Feel and receive the support of this sangha; meaning the beauty of this community. Share your support with others. Share thorugh concious energy with your inhale and your exhale. Your pranayama.
Allow your body to rest deeper in to stillness.
Bring awarness of the noise within your mind. Give it permission to rest.
With each breath, rest deeper, rest quieter. Slowly, intentional, eventaully, until you feel the silence in yourself.
Listen to the silence; feel the silence; rest in the silence.
There is a deep sense of peace in the silence. Rest here.
Be aware of this inner noise which may rise and fall like the tides of a full moon. Be aware and let it go as the surf rolls away from the shore.
Listen to the silence; feel the silence; rest in the silence.
There is a deep sense of peace in the silence. Rest here.
In the silence there is fullness, as the moon which draws the tides. A fullness to your heart. A fullness to your world. In silence is respite and restoration. A new you taking up your space in the world.
As you are connected to your silence, may you see the light and qualities of higher existence, a connection to the Universe and the earth moon. Be no higher than an earth worm's belly and no lower than the skies. Share your light, your qualities, your worth with others. This is the power of the fullness of silence.
