My Story
Marcy S. Wood is an avid traveller, writer and hiker. She has an MA in Creative Professional Writing from Denver University - UCOL. Her concentration is in fiction. Her professors deem her writing as exemplar literary pieces for all genres, with a particular strength on expressive lyrical prose. She has been published in several online poetry magazines, nominated for the AWP Intro Journals project for 2022, and awarded in the third round in the Colorado Hearts and Minds poetry competition in the same year.
Business owner of Studio Ouray. As an accomplished group ex, yoga instructor, and personal trainer, she has been taught in the fitness industry since 1991. She earned her degree in Kinesiology at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She has taught yoga at Corepower Yoga, the YMCA, Gold’s Gym, as well as many independent studios. Marcy earned her E-RYT (educator 1000+ hours), and has over 500 hours of yoga credentialing through various disciplines including Shiva Rea and the Shambhavanda School of Yoga. Marcy holds multiple certifications through the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America, G.E.A.R., TRX, Bender Barre, Silver Sneakers, and physical therapist CEC through Postural Restoration™ and Functional Movement Screening™. Injury prevention is her highest priority and she is kinesiology tape certified through ROCKTAPE™.

Marcy pursues personal well-being as a conscious effort to live healthy. A Boulder native,
her family moved to Ouray in June of 2015, she loves hiking when not attending to her
husband, three kids and as many pets. She writes with a wooley 120# Bern-Newfie at her feet.
