Marcy S. Wood is an avid traveller, writer and hiker. She has an MA in Creative Professional Writing from Denver University - UCOL. Her concentration is in fiction, her passion is historical fiction. In 2022, Marcy's poem "Assumption of the Cusco Cathedral" was nominated for the AWP Intro Journals Project, and "Petrichor" placed in the third round of Colorado Hearts and Minds contest. Since 2024, she co-hosts a monthly literary writing group, and has maintained a family travel blog since 2011 (older post can be found at ourayyoga.com).
Marcy is owner of Studio Ouray, a yoga and fitness studio. She has taught in the fitness industry
since 1991, is an accomplished group ex, yoga instructor and personal trainer, and earned her BA
in Kinesiology at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She continues to improve with every CEC
ranging from aerobics to zumba.
At her essence, she pursues personal well-being as a conscious effort to live healthy.
A Boulder native, her family moved to Ouray in June of 2015, she loves hiking when not attending
to her empty nest and her husband.
She writes in the early morning at the end of a long dining room table with a warm cup of coffee and a wooley
Bern-Newfie at her feet.
